Governed for direct humanitarian action
AidWorkers exists to support people affected by conflict, famine, displacement, poverty, disaster, disease and other humanitarian crises. The organisation is designed to help trusted aid workers, responders and local contacts act quickly where practical support is needed and where slower systems may not reach people in time.
Good governance is not about creating a slow or bloated structure. It is about making sure decisions are lawful, responsible, recorded and aligned with the purpose of helping people in need.
Human need first
Decisions should be led by the needs, dignity and safety of people affected by hardship or crisis.
Direct support
Funds and resources should be directed through trusted routes where they can create practical benefit quickly.
Low overhead
The organisation should avoid unnecessary administrative cost, duplication and corporate bloat.
Independence
AidWorkers should not be controlled by any single donor, government, NGO, company or political interest.
Governance documents and policies
These pages set out how AidWorkers is structured, how decisions are made, how trustees are appointed, how funds are handled and how sensitive information is protected.
Working governance position
This section is a working governance framework. It may be updated as AidWorkers develops, appoints trustees, formalises its legal structure, publishes reports and adopts more detailed operating policies.
