Purposes and public benefit
AidWorkers exists to relieve hardship and advance humanitarian benefit through useful information, practical resources, responsible support and action for people affected by conflict, disaster, hunger, disease, displacement, poverty and related crises. Activities and spending must further those purposes for public benefit.
Powers and limits
- Raise and receive funds responsibly.
- Publish information and develop resources.
- Work with suitable people and organisations in the UK and overseas.
- Employ staff, engage volunteers and obtain professional advice where necessary.
- Hold reserves, insure risks and manage property or technology needed for the work.
- Provide grants or direct support only with suitable authority, due diligence and records.
Trustees and decisions
The document should set the number, eligibility, appointment, term, retirement and removal of trustees; meeting and quorum rules; voting; conflicts procedures; delegation; record keeping; amendments; and dissolution. Trustees remain collectively responsible even where work is delegated.
