In this role, you will support across MAGENTA’s social and behavioural change portfolio. You’ll play a key part in ensuring quality delivery in behavioural research, strategic communications, community engagement or social change programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Consultant will support a number of SBC projects in the research and communications field in the MENA region. Tasks will be requested on a needs basis and include:

  • Supporting the design and drafting of social and behavioural change and communications strategies and materials, informed by behavioural change theory and frameworks, including for proposals or bids, under the guidance of senior team members
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and coordination to help ensure project quality and client satisfaction, working alongside senior staff on relationship management
  • Assisting with programme monitoring and flagging implementation issues to support smooth delivery
  • Supporting the design and administration of monitoring and evaluation tools, including data collection instruments, to help measure the impact of behaviourally informed interventions
  • Contributing to the global body of evidence around SBC by drafting sections of reports, case studies and supporting materials
  • Supporting delivery of assigned project tasks within agreed budgets and timeframes, under supervision

For each requirement, MAGENTA will issue a specific PO with an agreed upon amount.

REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree an advantage
  • At least 2-3 years professional experience, including at least 1 year in a communications, campaigns or SBC role in the humanitarian development sector
  • Working knowledge of communications and behavioural change frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings, under the guidance of senior colleagues
  • Knowledge of and experience living in the MENA region required
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory for the role
  • Fluency in AI tools including automation of tasks using OSINT tools
  • Familiarity with one or more analytical tools (e.g. NVivo, SPSS/Stata/R, Sprockler, KoBo, Tableau) and Microsoft 365

This can be a remote position, but preference given to candidates based in the Middle East, with regular travel to client sites expected
