Job Purpose:

The Liaison & Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for strengthening and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including local partners, civil society actors, donors, coordination bodies, and other relevant entities. The role focuses on representation, partnership-building, coordination, communication, and advocacy support, ensuring effective engagement and information flow between the organization and external actors.

Strategic and operational:

  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with relevant stakeholders, including NGOs, INGOs, local initiatives, community-based organizations, and coordination platforms.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for external stakeholders in Türkiye, ensuring consistent engagement.
  • Identify potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate coordination and information exchange between the organization and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain an updated stakeholder map to identify key actors, their roles, and relationships for effective engagement and coordination.
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings, forums, workshops, donor briefings, and other relevant events, including engagement with donors, clusters, and coordination mechanisms as required.
  • Prepare and disseminate key updates, outcomes, and action points from meetings with internal teams in a timely and structured manner.
  • Contribute to advocacy efforts by supporting relationship-building with advocacy actors, networks, and platforms.
  • Support the drafting and delivery of advocacy messages through meetings, discussions, and participation in relevant events.
  • Stay up to date on contextual developments in Türkiye to inform advocacy priorities and strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal advocacy teams to ensure alignment of messaging with the organization's objectives.
  • Draft advocacy briefs and recommendation papers based on field observations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Travel regularly across different areas in Türkiye to support stakeholder engagement and coordination.
  • Maintain an active presence in the field to strengthen relationships and understand local dynamics.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, coordination, or advocacy within NGOs or humanitarian contexts.
  • Proven experience interacting with donors, NGOs, INGOs, and civil society actors.
  • Experience in field-based work and travel across operational areas is required.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Turkish and English is required (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to represent the organization in meetings and external forums.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of cultural and political sensitivity.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and ethical standards.
