Why help matters now
Receding water does not end the humanitarian need
Families returning home can face deep silt, destroyed belongings, unsafe water, damaged crops and the loss of livestock or income. Others still depend on relief camps, distribution points or relatives for shelter.
Bal Raksha Bharat and the Assam Foundation of North America both maintain active public flood appeals and report continuing relief work. Their published response plans include food, water, medical support, shelter materials, hygiene supplies and rehabilitation items.
